Born as a tongue-in-cheek response to one of the most harmful false narratives placed upon us, niggasdontread—ndr. for short, and for the unmelanated folk in the room—is an independent, editorial-first Black media company. Through interviews, essays, playlists, and photography, ndr. documents Black life as it’s actually lived: the highs and lows, the mainstream and the underground, hoops, rap, literature, and everything in between.

In a hyper-fragmented media landscape, ndr. is a cozy corner of the ecosystem made for Black thought—word to The Roots. The publication is built on a single editorial principle: what speaks to everyone usually says nothing to anyone. ndr. isn’t for everyone, and that’s by design.
